Meet at the i-SITE Visitor Centre along the waterfront, 137 Quay Street, Princes Wharf, Auckland City.
Zest Ponsonby Gourmet Walk
Meet at The old Post Office (now The Ponsonby) cnr of Ponsonby Road, College Hill and St Mary's Road in Ponsonby, Auckland.
This is the end of Ponsonby Road closest to the harbour bridge.
A good way to get around and discover a bit of Auckland along the way is via the Link bus which travels every 10-20 minutes the circuit of Auckland city and surrounding suburbs and can be boarded at most bus stops. Have a look out for the Link sign. The journey costs $1.80 and can be paid to the driver onboard.
Please advise at time of booking whether you'd prefer the Zest Ponsonby Gourmet Tour or the Zest Auckland City Walk tour (commencing 1st Nov 2011).
Cancellation policy
Bookings cancelled within 48 hours before tour starts will be charged 50% cancellation fee. If cancelled within 24 hours, 100% cancellation fee will apply.
In addition to the charges set by Zest Tours, New Zealand Hotel Link will charge a handling fee of 10% of the value of the booking with a minimum charge of $20 and a maximum of $50.
Zest Auckland Food Tours
It's a well known saying that "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach" well perhaps the best way to discover Auckland's heart is by tasting, sampling and discovering the food produced by the region.
These tours are both conducted by passionate and knowledgeable 'foodies' who will guide you through local treats and perhaps open your palette to something new. You'll meet the personalities behind these kiwi businesses, learn secrets and gain access only open to those 'in the know'.
But of course you'll also eat along the way and enjoy lunch paired with a quality New Zealand wine to round off the day.
Zest Ponsonby Gourmet Walk
A bohemiam suburb 5 minutes from Auckland CBD, this tour will take you into the heart of this eclectic arty area where you can meet some of the creative characters that produce the arts, crafts and culinary treats you'll have the opportunity to try. Your gourmet experience is a walking tour where you'll sample delicious coffee at an award winning cafe, sumptuous baking treats, decadent chocolates and fine local produce. Ponsonby is also well known for boutique shops offering unique clothing and household items so make sure you bring your credit card.
A light lunch matched with a glass of premium New Zealand wine is included.
Zest Auckland City Tastes - OPENING 1ST NOVEMBER 2011
Discover two of downtown Auckland's popular eating locations with a variety of styles, flavours and atmospheres including iconic and award winning restaurants. The Britomart precinct (main train station) hosts a range of cafes and restaurants and is becoming known as the new 'hip' place to be. The Saturday tour is an extra bonus where home culinary experts bring their wares to sell at the farmers market. The smells entice you from blocks away and you'll find plenty to sample and stories to hear as you meander through this outdoor arena.
The other location is along Auckland's waterfront is the Viaduct area with an abundance of fine wine and food this tour is a great start in Auckland, so you can come back later and experience all the cuisines on offer.
Tour includes all tastings, a light lunch and glass of premium New Zealand wine.
Participant guidelines
There is about 30 minutes of walking so we recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. Don't forget Auckland can sometimes have 4 seasons in 1 day so an umberella could be a good idea too.
